BBC World Service wanted to update their World Football podcast branding so it would stand out among all the other football apps during the World Cup 2018. Also, they didn't want the usual cliches of man kicking ball, ball hitting net, football pitch, etc.
And so the solution came from the inversion of the ball and football field, in a design that really stands out among the crowd.
